Join our Systems Engineering and Safety Assurance team, focusing on rail projects as part of AECOM’s high‑profile infrastructure initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver – Develop system engineering plans and processes; undertake development of system definitions, technical requirements and architectures.
  • Oversee – Manage technical requirements using tools such as DOORS and ComplyPro; deliver systems engineering processes that support customer requirements.
  • Provide Expertise – Evaluate interrelationships of system requirements and design aspects; develop scope of works and work packages with clients; act as senior technical resource for the team and project.
  • Ensure Quality – Provide specialized technical input to studies and design within your area of expertise; develop study and design procedures to enable high‑quality, cost‑effective work.
  • Collaborate – Participate in multidisciplinary reviews of project deliverables; develop cost estimates and technical effort estimates; perform quality control reviews of design calculations or drawings; prepare technical specification sections; support engineering budget and schedule development.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree or equivalent.
  • Chartered Engineer status.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in railway systems safety and assurance, including system safety and interoperability.
  • Knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation and regulations.
