We are looking for an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to support the continued expansion of our energy team and help shape the future of sustainable infrastructure. Successful candidates will be deployed across our Renewables & Transmission and Distribution teams and may be based in Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, London or Perth with a flexible hybrid working model.

What You’ll Do

  • Liaise with clients, manage daily project work and ensure delivery within agreed timescales and budgets.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams and lead the design of civil infrastructure including roads, drainage, structural infrastructure and external works.
  • Prepare and review calculations, detailed design drawings and specifications ensuring compliance with UK standards (BS EN codes, Eurocodes, CDM Regulations).
  • Conduct site inspections and respond to technical queries.
  • Produce high‑quality reports (feasibility studies, inspection reports, design documentation).
  • Mentor and guide junior staff.

Qualifications

  • BEng (Hons) degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Chartered status or actively working towards chartership with the Institution of Civil Engineers or relevant institution.
  • High technical competency in design of civil or structural elements.
  • Strong report writing and organisational skills.
  • Familiarity with National Grid Technical Specifications (NGTS) or National Grid CDAE status is an added advantage.
