One of our most recent wins includes Scottish Water's SR27 Enterprise. It is the highest value venture ever put into place by Scottish Water and will reshape Scotland's water and wastewater infrastructure from 2027 to 2033 (with potential to extend for another 6 years). Join our dynamic and multidisciplinary Water Team as a Principal Mechanical Engineer in one of our Scotland offices – whilst also taking advantage of work from home days through our hybrid work approach.

Here's what you'll do:

• Prepare feasibility studies, outline design, detailed design and construction support.
• Produce Plant layouts, design drawings and mechanical plant selection including specifications, WIMES Data Sheets, Valve schedules, Equipment Schedules, lifting strategies, hydraulic headloss calculations and P&IDs.
• Liaise and collaborate with our water and other discipline teams including civil, electrical, process and mechanical engineers nationwide.
• Visit site to carry surveys and support of liaisons with clients, contractors & suppliers.
• Lead and contribute design review meetings such as HAZOPs, HAZIDs, ALMs and SWIFTS.
• Act as Mechanical Lead on projects including WwTW, WTW and Infrastructure.
• Support the Project Manager and Design Lead to successfully deliver the Mechanical Scope to programme and budget.
• Assist the Project Manager to set realistic programmes and budgets for Mechanical projects.
• Be a Line manager for Mechanical Graduate, Engineer and Senior Engineers.

A degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering. Be a Chartered Engineer with a relevant institution, such as IMechE. A proven ability to deliver engineering designs, reports, drawings, technical specifications, and calculations with confidence and precision.
