Are you a talented and ambitious Cost Manager looking to work on exciting Defence sector infrastructure projects? We are looking for experienced Cost Managers to support our growth plans, working with key defence infrastructure clients, particularly in the central belt of Scotland, supporting the successful delivery of their capital projects and programmes of work.
You will be joining an established team of like-minded experts that have a passion for innovation and delivering cutting-edge solutions. As a Cost Manager within our Infrastructure and PMO (IPMO) team, you will provide a comprehensive, accurate and value-driven service for large, high-profile clients within the water sector. The role also presents opportunities to work across other sectors including highways, power, and aviation throughout the UK.
The role will cover all aspects of cost management throughout the whole project lifecycle from initial inception/business case through to completion/commissioning. The role also provides the opportunity to support the growth of the business and management/development of team members within the Scotland team.
Duties include (but are not limited to):
- Deliver all aspects of cost management from inception of a project through to completion.
- Achieve the highest standards of professional competence and demonstrate this ability in all dealings with clients and professional contacts.
- Drive performance standards and technical excellence through communication and effective use of the performance management process.
- Maintain and develop good relationships with clients, taking every opportunity to uphold and increase the profile of the firm.
- Actively support the internal team and manage more junior staff on technically complex projects.
- Identify and influence key client stakeholders, building effective relationships to grow workload/portfolio.
- Approach all projects with a high degree of flexibility and creativity, excellent presentational skills, and an ability to communicate effectively with clients and consultants.
The successful candidate shall be charged with the delivery of Project cost/commercial Management Services within our Client-focused and highly motivated professional team.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of three years’ experience with a strong track record in the Cost Management/Quantity Surveying field, ideally working on large scale infrastructure or defence-related projects.
- Excellent working knowledge of NEC4 suite of contracts, particularly the Professional Services Contract (PSC) and Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC) Options A and C.
- Experience of undertaking cost/commercial management as part of integrated, multi-organisation, collaborative teams.
- Experience of working within a client organisation, either directly or through a colocation/secondment arrangement would be beneficial.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent).
- Accredited to MRICS (or equivalent) or working towards it.
- Ability to obtain or already be Security Cleared (SC) level.
