This is an exciting and interesting time to join the AECOM Energy team covering all aspects of work within Transmission and Distribution (T&D), Renewables and Nuclear decommissioning, twinned with this is our ever-expanding digital scope, ensuring a variety of projects to work on. We are looking for experienced candidates to satisfy our advanced IM needs across multiple opportunities.

Successful candidates will support either within our central Digital Energy Team, or within one of our three Energy practices: Nuclear, Transmission & Distribution (T&D), and R&D. While delivering digital transformation within AECOM, the right candidates will also have active long-term project roles such as Senior Project Information Manager or BIM Project Manager for major programmes including the National Grid Great Grid Upgrade Programme. These are complex and advanced positions based on the scale of scope, requiring the best IM experience. That expertise may focus on programme-level data and interface management, or on BIM/CAD delivery with ISO 19650 best practice implementation.

The most advanced candidates can deliver all these capabilities at scale across major infrastructure programmes, leading the strategic implementation of digital information management frameworks and advanced BIM delivery processes while driving digital transformation and establishing new standards for delivery excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the definition and implementation of comprehensive ISO 19650 information management frameworks across major infrastructure programmes.
  • Interface directly with senior client stakeholders and digital delivery teams to align strategic objectives.
  • Establish quality management systems and governance processes for digital information delivery.
  • Represent AECOM at senior stakeholder meetings and industry forums as a thought leader in digital infrastructure delivery.
Information Management Track Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage ISO 19650 documentation suite including EIR, BEP, MIDP, TIDP, etc. for major infrastructure programmes.
  • Direct configuration and management of Common Data Environment systems, ensuring proper information exchange and compliance.
  • Support Information Managers in CDE configuration and alignment with information exchange processes.
  • Ensure adoption and compliant use of project CDE systems across all project elements.
  • Own definition of BIM Execution Plans and liaise with GIS and BIM specialists to respond to EIR requirements.
  • Ensure Master Information Delivery Plans are agreed and managed per framework requirements.
  • Assess delivery team capacity and capability related to information delivery.
  • Oversee information delivery assurance as per agreed acceptance criteria.
BIM Delivery Track Responsibilities
  • Implement BIM and digital delivery processes including 3D/4D/5D integration and data management.
  • Lead assessment and implementation of digital tools to support Modern Methods of Construction (MMC).
  • Support verification of BIM/digital delivery capabilities needed for Engineering, Consenting and Construction processes.
  • Work with teams to define and implement digital integration of data, systems and processes.
  • Participate in development and customization of software tools including CAD-GIS integration requirements.
  • Support integration of digital design technologies into project workflows and automated design processes.
  • Support assessment and implementation of immersive visualisation software, 3D reality capture and VR/AR technology.
  • Provide technical support for digital engineering technologies, BIM software, and 3D graphics applications.
Leadership & Development Responsibilities
  • Establish training programmes and communication materials to ensure consistent delivery standards.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within digital information management and BIM services.
  • Lead proposal development for digital delivery components of major infrastructure bids.
  • Drive innovation initiatives and R&D activities to maintain AECOM's competitive advantage.

Qualifications
  • Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related technical discipline.
  • Expertise in ISO 19650 framework implementation, including document authoring, and CDE management across complex programmes.
  • Advanced knowledge of digital engineering solutions, including BIM, GIS integration, 4D/5D methodologies, and emerging digital technologies.
  • Proven track record in Common Data Environment platform implementation (Autodesk ACC, SharePoint, others) with enterprise-level system integration experience.
  • Understanding of COBie, IFC standards, and data exchange protocols for infrastructure asset delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams across complex programme environments.
  • Proven ability to interface with senior client stakeholders and project leadership teams.
  • Experience with major infrastructure delivery frameworks (NEC, FIDIC) and their interface with digital delivery requirements.
  • Track record of driving digital transformation initiatives and change management programmes.
  • Chartered status with relevant professional body (RICS, ICE, BCS, CIOB).
  • ISO 19650 Lead Implementer certification or equivalent professional certification.
  • Strong commercial awareness with experience in budget management, resource planning, and delivery to agreed timelines.
  • Additional certifications in project management (APM, PMI) or digital delivery platforms.
  • Experience in business development, proposal writing, and client relationship management.
  • Published thought leadership or speaking experience at industry conferences.
  • Specific experience within energy transmission/distribution infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of enterprise IM systems used within critical infrastructure sectors.
  • Understanding of asset lifecycle requirements and operational handover processes for critical infrastructure.
  • Experience with emerging technologies including AI/ML applications in digital delivery, VR/AR implementation, and digital twin development.
