AECOM is a global infrastructure consulting firm delivering professional services across the project lifecycle.
We are seeking an enthusiastic self‑motivated electrical engineer with a minimum of 3 years experience in electrical building services design, including low voltage distribution systems, lighting, emergency lighting, fire detection and alarms, and lighting protection. Experience using building services engineering software, Autodesk Revit, and a willingness to learn are essential.
Job Responsibilities:
- Supporting multiple projects and teams with direct design and delivery activities for all phases of a project or a number of projects.
- Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
- Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well‑defined procedures.
- Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations.
- Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.
- Identifies discrepancies in results.
- Provides guidance to trainee engineers.
- Performs work in accordance with agreed time frame with supervision.
- Contributes to the development of technical proposals.
- To support and lead our 3D and BIM capabilities.
Minimum Requirements:
- Knowledge and experience of electrical building services calculations and design.
- A highly motivated individual able to quickly grasp new concepts and design tools.
- Ability to speak fluently and communicate effectively in written reports and oral presentations.
- Relevant experience in building services electrical engineering design, including specification writing, calculations, and developing.
- Conversant with UK codes and practices.
Qualifications:
- BSc or BEng in an Engineering degree or MEng with engineering accreditation or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Registered as a Member with a professional institution and follows a training plan towards the intended professional registration with either the Institute of Engineering and Technology or the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers.
- Existing BPSS or SC preferred.
