Join our dynamic and multidisciplinary Water Team as a Senior Mechanical Engineer in one of our Scotland offices – whilst also taking advantage of work from home days through our hybrid work approach.
Responsibilities
- Prepare feasibility studies, outline design, detailed design and construction support.
- Produce plant layouts, design drawings and mechanical plant selection including specifications, WIMES Data Sheets, Valve schedules, Equipment Schedules, lifting strategies, hydraulic headloss calculations and P&IDs for water projects.
- Liaise and collaborate with water and other discipline teams including civil, electrical, process and mechanical engineers nationwide.
- Visit site to carry surveys and support liaisons with clients, contractors & suppliers.
- Attend and contribute design review meetings such as HAZOPs, HAZIDs, ALMs and SWIFTS.
- Line manage and mentor junior and graduate mechanical engineers.
- Complete checking of mechanical deliverables produced by other engineers.

Qualifications
- A degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering.
- Progress towards Chartered Engineer status with a relevant institution, such as IMechE.
- Proven ability to deliver engineering designs, reports, drawings, technical specifications and calculations with confidence and precision.
- Hands-on experience in delivering innovative solutions for water and wastewater engineering projects.
