Responsibilities
- Prepare feasibility studies, outline design, detailed design and provide construction support.
- Produce plant layouts, design drawings, mechanical plant selection including specifications, WIMES data sheets, valve schedules, equipment schedules, lifting strategies, hydraulic headloss calculations and P&IDs for water projects.
- Collaborate with water and other discipline teams nationwide.
- Conduct site visits to carry surveys and support liaising with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
- Lead and contribute to design review meetings such as HAZOP, HAZID, ALM, and SWIFT.
- Act as Mechanical Lead on WwTW, WTW, and infrastructure projects; support the Project Manager and Design Lead in delivering the mechanical scope to programme and budget.
- Assist the Project Manager in setting realistic programmes and budgets for mechanical projects.
- Manage a line of Mechanical Graduate, Engineer, and Senior Engineers.
Qualifications
- A degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
- Chartered Engineer status with a relevant institution such as IMechE.
- Proven ability to deliver engineering designs, reports, drawings, technical specifications, and calculations with confidence and precision.
- Hands‐on experience delivering innovative solutions for water and wastewater engineering projects.
