Join our dynamic and multidisciplinary Water Team as a CAD Technician in our rapidly growing Scottish offices (Glasgow, Edinburgh, Inverness and Perth) – whilst also taking advantage of our flexible hybrid working model.
AECOM has recently been named as one of two Primary Designers for Scottish Water’s SR27 Enterprise. This transformational, multi-billion-pound programme is the highest value venture ever put into place by Scottish Water and will reshape Scotland’s water and wastewater infrastructure from 2027 to 2033 (with potential to extend for another 6 years). AECOM will be at the heart of this ground-breaking delivery model, shaping design excellence at scale and working with Scottish Water and our Enterprise Partners to help drive outcomes that deliver value for customers in Scotland and go beyond net zero.

Job Description- Level of Supervision & Responsibility: Work independently using an already established understanding of civil engineering and best practices and be able to provide meaningful input to the design process.
- Project & Technical Accountability: Duties may include technical responsibility for a major phase or component of a project. Takes lead role in workflow coordination.
- Collaboration: Work in conjunction with engineers of multiple disciplines as part of the iterative design process.
- Technical Skills & Systems Knowledge: Knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D, AutoCAD and document management systems. Provide Civil 3D modelling support to engineering team.
- Engineering Design, Data Collection & Analysis: Gather and correlate basic engineering data using established and well-defined methods. Work on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
- Maintain Standards: Support the CAD Lead in maintaining CAD standards, best practices, and processes for modelling, content creation, and advanced digital developments.

Qualifications- Certified Minimum of a HNC or Equivalent Qualification: In an engineering discipline.
- Software Proficiency: Proficient in using Autodesk AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D. Familiarity in other 3D modelling software such Autodesk ReCap, Revit and experience in validating and coordinating models in Navisworks or similar software.
- Common Data Environment Experience: Experience working in a Common Data Environment such as ProjectWise, Autodesk Construction.
