Our Water Team in Scotland are delivering a diverse and high-impact portfolio of projects that are shaping sustainable and resilient water systems for generations to come.
Here's what you'll do:
- Prepare feasibility studies, outline design, detailed design and construction support
- Act as Lead Verifier for Mechanical design drawings, mechanical plant selection, specifications, WIMES Data Sheets, Valve schedules, Equipment Schedules, lifting strategies, hydraulic headloss calculations and P&IDs
- Liaise and collaborate with our water and other discipline teams including civil, electrical, process and mechanical engineers nationwide
- Lead a Mechanical Engineering Team preparing designs of the Mechanical Elements for Water Treatment Plants, Wastewater Treatment Plants and Infrastructure projects
- Develop Scopes, Proposals, Estimates and Programmes for Mechanical engineering projects
- Manage and deliver the Mechanical Engineering elements of Multi-disciplinary Water Projects including Treatment plants
- Act as overall Design Lead for Mechanical biased projects
- Mentor and support junior engineers and provide training and development
- Visit site to carry surveys and support of liaisons with clients, contractors & suppliers
- Lead and contribute design review meeting such as HAZOPs, HAZIDs, ALMs and SWIFTS
- Assist the Project Manager to set realistic programmes and budgets for Mechanical projects
- Be a Line manager for Senior Engineers and Principal Engineers

Qualifications
Ready to push the limits of what’s possible? Here’s what we’re looking for:
- A degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering
- Be a Chartered Engineer with a relevant institution, such as IMechE
- A proven ability to deliver engineering designs, reports, drawings, technical specifications, and calculations with confidence and precision
- Hands-on experience in delivering innovative solutions for water and wastewater engineering projects
