AECOM is seeking to recruit an Infrastructure Engineer with a highways and drainage focus to join our busy Development Infrastructure Team in St Albans. The team delivers a wide range of multidisciplinary, predominantly residential-led infrastructure projects. Our work spans early scoping and feasibility, technical support for planning, detailed infrastructure design for implementation, and ongoing support during construction.
Here’s what you’ll do:
- Lead the technical delivery of civil engineering projects, with increasing responsibility for project management.
- Prepare and review survey specifications, including utilities and topographical surveys.
- Check and coordinate the production of studies, assessments, and conceptual designs for development schemes (drainage, highways, utilities, earthworks, and flood risk).
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and key stakeholders to secure approvals and ensure compliance.
- Contribute to bids and proposals, attend project meetings, and confidently communicate technical solutions.
Qualifications:
- Civil Engineering degree (BEng) and/or Master’s degree (MEng).
- Relevant experience, ideally within a consultancy environment, delivering highways and drainage design for residential, commercial, and wider infrastructure schemes.
- Proficient in industry-standard software, including InfoDrainage, AutoCAD, and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Experience working with developer clients and contractors, with a proven track record of delivering infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with ArcGIS is welcomed but not essential, along with an interest in integrated AI solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BEng or MEng with progress toward Incorporated or Chartered status with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), or membership of CIWEM or CIHT.
