Join our dynamic and multidisciplinary Water Team as Senior Structural Engineer in one of our offices - whilst also taking advantage of our flexible hybrid working model. We are at the forefront of innovation, delivering an exceptional portfolio of water programmes and projects through long-term partnerships with key clients - including major UK water companies (Wessex Water, Welsh Water, Southwest Water locally), contractors and international projects. This role represents a great opportunity to develop your career as a technical expert delivering solutions on a diverse range of projects that meet the technical challenges of today and tomorrow.

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Structural Design: Undertake the design and review of structural elements on wastewater and water infrastructure treatment projects, such as water-retaining structures and other water related assets, from concept through construction.
  • Collaborate: With Clients and AECOM counterparts to ensure stakeholders buy in to solutions, and also contribute to AECOM’s wider technical capability and innovative approach.
  • Quality: Produce and review deliverables, including calculations, drawings and technical reports to relevant standards and procedures.
  • Deliver: Take responsibility for delivering to the agreed budget, programme and quality along with supporting the preparation of project budget & programme.
  • Explore: Seek opportunities to innovate and trial new methods by being inquisitive and forward thinking.
  • Mentor: Delegate tasks, direct and oversee the work of others and act as a technical mentor to more junior staff.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Civil or Structural Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Possess a range of structural analysis and design experience, particularly in relation to reinforced concrete and steelwork structures.
  • Experience working in a digital delivery environment using BIM and 3D design tools.
  • Have a membership/working towards membership of a relevant professional institution (ICE or IStructE).
