We’re looking for a Principal Geo-Environmental Consultant to join our growing Investigations and Remediation team, with opportunities to be based across our offices - Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Chesterfield, Croydon, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Manchester, and Plymouth, with an option for hybrid working.
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering ground investigation, contamination assessment, and remediation projects, acting as project manager and giving technical direction.
Here’s what you’ll do:
- You will prepare fee proposals for external and internal clients and lead the input to projects from desk study and feasibility through ground investigation and interpretation to final design.
- You will provide technical steer to allow development of conceptual site models, interpret soil/groundwater data, and progress projects through to remediation.
- This role requires client facing delivery, project management, commercial and contract management, mentoring and line management of junior staff, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Qualifications:
A degree in an environmental, science or engineering-based subject and have Chartered status through a recognised institution like the Institution of Environmental Sciences (IES) or The Geological Society of London. Others will also be considered.
Experience in managing the commercial and contractual aspects of project delivery.
Experience in client and stakeholder management.
Proven expertise in producing, reviewing, and approving technical reports.
Wide range of experience, knowledge and skills in contaminated land assessment and management.
Proven understanding of contaminated land assessment regulations and guidance.
Understanding of CDM regulations and site management.
Hands-on experience within field investigation, including site management, drilling supervision, collection of soil, groundwater, vapour and ground gas samples, or the supervision of remediation activities.
Development of robust conceptual site models.
Qualitative and/or quantitative risk assessment.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work closely and collaboratively with colleagues and clients in a multi-disciplinary environment.
Clean driving licence, and willing to travel within the UK.
