Our Aviation Infrastructure team is based in our AECOM Basingstoke, Croydon, Manchester, Birmingham and London offices and are passionate about creating innovative, resilient, and sustainable solutions for airports of all sizes.
Here’s what you’ll do:
- Design: contribute to airport engineering projects including runways, taxiways, aprons, vehicle service roads, aeronautical ground lighting and signage installation, navigational aids, drainage improvements, utility relocation and protection, and pavement rehabilitation on a wide variety of civil and military multi-disciplinary aviation projects.
- Produce: engineering calculations, design reports, project definition documents, and construction plans. Contribute towards works programmes and contract documentation including technical specifications.
- Investigate: undertake asset condition inspections on site and report on the condition to asset owners to enable strategic decisions to be made on capital project planning.
- Organise: Take ownership and demonstrate responsibility for delivery of assigned tasks in alignment with project programme and budgets.
- Collaborate: with multi-disciplinary design teams consisting of airport planners, architects, engineers and technicians across the UK and Europe. Attend client meetings and contribute to discussions with project stakeholders around designs that you have developed.
- Assure: Undertake self-checking of deliverables and participate in the design review processes. Demonstrate a commitment to AECOM's Quality Assurance processes and procedures.
Ready to push the limits of what’s possible? Here’s what we’re looking for:
- Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
- A solution-oriented mindset, unafraid to challenge the status quo or suggest innovative ideas.
- A proactive attitude towards learning and professional development, showing readiness to take on new challenges and grow within the role.
- Experience in design, planning and construction support of civil engineering projects, experience within the airport environment is highly desirable but not essential.
- Knowledge of Civil Aviation standards and recommended practices (ICAO, EASA, CAA, FAA, MAA) (desirable).
- Knowledge of DMRB or highway civil engineering design.
- Good knowledge/experience of AutoCAD, experience of Civil 3D, AviPlan or similar is desirable but not essential.
