We are looking for a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join our Ground Engineering team in London, either Croydon or Aldgate. The role will lead and manage geotechnical projects from investigation through to design and construction, ensuring high quality deliverables and alignment with budgets and schedules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage geotechnical projects from investigation through to design and construction, ensuring high‑quality deliverables within budget and programme constraints.
  • Apply cutting‑edge approaches in ground investigation, geotechnical design, foundation design, slope stability assessment, and ground improvement.
  • Work independently while supporting and developing junior team members, engaging with internal and external clients, and leading project input from desk study through final design.
  • Deliver technical solutions that meet UK and international standards and codes.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Geotechnical Engineering (BSc or MSc) or a related field.
  • Chartered status (Engineer) preferred.
  • Proven track record delivering ground engineering projects in the UK.
  • Strong technical, commercial, and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate closely with Technical Directors and Associates.
  • Experience preparing, checking, and reviewing technical documents including desk studies, reports, specifications, construction drawings, and design reports.
  • Experience preparing fee bids and proposals for internal and external clients.
  • Demonstrated understanding of current design codes, standards, and best practices in geotechnical design.
  • Ability to inspire, mentor, and lead teams.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the UK and a clean driving licence.
