We are hiring a Principal Planner to join our planning practice. The role involves leadership, project management, and strategic advice to our clients and local authorities.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a town planning team and key planning policy projects.
- Develop local authority policies, evidence studies, strategic growth studies and infrastructure strategies.
- Provide strategic planning advice and effective representation to clients, local authorities, and stakeholders.
- Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to deliver projects on budget and on time.
- Oversee deliverables, quality assurance and health & safety compliance.
- Contribute to business development, nurture client relationships and prepare commercial tenders.
- Support knowledge sharing and technical excellence across the practice.
Qualifications
- Significant experience leading and contributing to planning policy and strategy in consultancy or public sector.
- Strong interpersonal skills, client focus and collaborative approach.
- Business development mindset with proven success in securing new opportunities.
- Capacity to produce high-quality technical reports and communicate effectively.
- Degree in Town Planning or related discipline; membership of RTPI or equivalent professional body.
Working Arrangements
Based in our flagship London Aldgate Tower office, you may also work from other locations (Basingstoke, Bristol, Birmingham, Cambridge, Chesterfield, Leeds, Manchester, Nottingham, Plymouth). We offer a hybrid model with flexibility between office and home. The role can be full-time or part-time.
