Qualifications
- Electrical/electronic/power engineering qualification (HNC, HND, BSc/BEng, MSc/MEng)
- Demonstrable electrical engineering design consultancy experience on transmission and distribution projects.
- Working knowledge of BS and/or Eurocodes for relevant engineering design standards.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal & written) with the confidence to engage stakeholders and sub‑contractors; aptitude to explain technical issues and capture feedback.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Engineering team on projects from concept through design and implementation.
- Provide high‑voltage power systems analysis, cabling, substation design, HVDC and interconnector support.
- Participate in grid modernisation activities, including protection systems, SCADA, communications and converter station design.
- Contribute to the UK’s national grid and Great Grid Program initiatives, ensuring integration of renewable energy sources and support of net‑zero targets.
