As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will lead the design and delivery of projects ranging from small rural upgrades to complex multi‑million‑pound schemes across the UK water sector. - Severn Trent Water (£14.9bn AMP8 Delivery Plan): Lot 1 Major Projects Framework – Large‑scale water and wastewater projects; Severn Trent D&B Projects – Supporting Tier 1 contractors on major non‑infrastructure wastewater schemes.
- Southern Water (£3.7bn Capital Delivery Programme): Strategic Delivery Partner (SDP) Frameworks – Lot 1 Non‑infrastructure water projects; Lot 2 Non‑infrastructure wastewater projects; Low Complexity Delivery Route Lot 2 (Wastewater Infrastructure); SDP Lot 3 Infrastructure Framework – Delivering sustainable wastewater infrastructure in partnership with Tier 1 contractors.
Responsibilities
- Electrical and ICA Design: undertake the design and review of electrical and ICA deliverables, including calculations, drawings and technical reports for water and wastewater infrastructure and treatment projects.
- Delivery: conduct feasibility studies, outline and detailed design, and provide construction/commissioning support.
- Quality: ensure high technical quality, contribute to bids, and maintain client relationships.
- Project Management: deliver to agreed budget, programme, and quality, supporting the preparation of project budgets and programmes.
- Mentoring: delegate tasks, direct and oversee the work of others, and act as a technical mentor to junior staff.
Qualifications
- BEng or MEng in Electrical Engineering with experience in water and wastewater treatment.
- Progress toward Chartered Engineer status with a relevant Professional Institution.
- Experience designing water and wastewater engineering deliverables preferred, though candidates from outside the industry may also be considered.
- A problem‑solver with confidence in owning challenging technical issues and achieving resolution.
- Capability to produce detailed design deliverables and coordinate and check deliverables produced by others.
