Overview
This Technical Specialist role in the Transportation team is a leadership position focused on supporting growth in our evaluation and benefits management business.
You will lead strategic initiatives, engage clients, oversee project delivery, win new work, and develop the team.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of strategic initiatives to grow the evaluation and benefits management work area.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders, representing AECOM at client meetings and industry events.
- Provide oversight of complex evaluation and benefits management project delivery, ensuring high‑quality deliverables and innovative methodologies.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, prepare bids and proposals, and collaborate on multidisciplinary projects.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop a high‑performing evaluation and benefits management team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in the evaluation field.
- Higher degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related field.
- Chartered status or membership in professional bodies such as CIHT, TPS, or UK Evaluation Society.
- Practical experience applying mixed‑methods and theory‑based or experimental/quasi‑experimental evaluation design.
- Proven track record in the design and implementation of benefits management.
- Strong analytical competencies for handling complex datasets, statistical analysis, economics, and social value.
- Critical‑thinking, problem‑solving mindset, and comfort navigating imperfect data environments.
- Demonstrated leadership, team‑management, and mentoring capabilities.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage complex projects and deliver results.
- Comprehensive knowledge of UK transport planning principles, policies, and regulations and insight into AI platform use in evaluation.
