As the Head of Bridges and Structures, you will be a key member of the leadership team that spans Rail, Structures, Ground Engineering (RSGE) at AECOM. You will be responsible for steering the strategy, growth, and operational excellence for the Bridges and Structures sub sector. Reporting directly to the Head of RSGE, key objectives of your role include business development, optimising our project portfolio as well as ensuring that our technical and client delivery standards remain industry‑leading. You will play a pivotal role in fostering a client‑centric culture, leveraging industry insights, and facilitating cross‑disciplinary collaboration to unlock synergies across our projects and capabilities. This position not only champions business growth but also upholds our commitment to safety, technical excellence, and high‑quality client service.

The key accountabilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the Bridges and Structures business strategy, aligning with overall RSGE and AECOM objectives. Drive business growth by identifying new opportunities and optimizing the current project portfolio.
- Team and Operational Excellence: Lead a talented team of 350 professionals, ensuring a safe, engaged, and technically capable workforce. Foster an inclusive work environment based on trust, respect, and open communication, with a clear focus on career development and mentorship. Ensure effective internal communication, consistent progress reporting, and the seamless cascade of information throughout the sub‑sector.
- Client and Market Engagement: Cultivate robust relationships with key clients—including National Rail, local authorities, contractors, and developers—to drive new business and strengthen existing partnerships. Champion multi‑disciplinary collaboration by representing Bridges and Structures in cross‑functional initiatives and key opportunity discussions. Support client account management activities by promoting market intelligence sharing and coordinated business development efforts.
- Quality, Safety, and Technical Excellence: Uphold the highest standards in technical excellence, safety, and quality, ensuring these priorities are maintained across all operations. Promote work‑sharing initiatives and collaborate with internal stakeholders to support comprehensive governance and risk management measures.

Qualifications
