Job DescriptionWe have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Civil Engineer to join our Highways, Active Travel and Infrastructure team.You will join our Highways team of more than 70 staff, recognised as market leaders in highways, public transport and active travel. The team continues to deliver high-profile and impactful projects across the island of Ireland.Based in our growing team, you’ll work within a positive and collaborative environment alongside experienced engineers and a locally based senior management team. You’ll also be enrolled in the AECOM ADVANCE graduate development programme, designed to support your professional and personal development as you build your career with AECOM.As a graduate, you’ll support the delivery of a diverse range of high-profile projects across the transportation sector, working with both local and national clients across the UK. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to the next generation of National Highways Major Projects, play a part in the enhancement of active travel opportunities for Local Highways development schemes and support our increasing role in providing transportation services to the burgeoning sustainable energy sector.You’ll work as part of a multidisciplinary team, gaining hands-on experience with industry-leading tools and contributing to projects at all stages, from early feasibility and planning through to detailed design, construction support and contract administration.QualificationsBEng in Civil Engineering or General Engineering, with a 2:1 classification (or equivalent) or aboveAn MEng in Civil Engineering or General Engineering, with a 2:1 classification (or equivalent) or above, would be an advantageRelevant modules, coursework or experience in highways, infrastructure or transportation would be an advantageEnthusiastic, hard-working and technically proficient, with ambition and driveGood report writing and technical communication skills would be beneficialAbility to structure and prioritise work effectively through close cooperation with the wider teamAbility to work effectively both as part of a team and independently, while demonstrating initiative and focusGood communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to colleagues, clients and other stakeholdersWillingness to develop professionally and work towards relevant professional accreditation or chartershipAdditional InformationApplicants are encouraged to apply as early as possible since CVs will be reviewed, and candidates selected for an advanced offer start.
