Overview

In this role, you will lead the Public Health and Fire Protection design across projects within our Building Services team. You’ll work with clients and multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated, compliant schemes that meet time and budget goals. You’ll help drive sustainability initiatives and net-zero objectives, including water efficiency, drainage, and energy-conscious design. This position offers hybrid working and exposure to high-profile, multi-sector projects that shape skylines and communities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Public Health and Fire Protection design on projects and prepare scheme and detailed designs
  • Mentor and develop staff, manage small multi-disciplinary projects, and maintain client relationships
  • Coordinate with Architects, QS and Design Consultants for fully integrated designs
  • Input to BIM processes (Revit) and support for projects designed in Revit and Navisworks
  • Ensure compliance with statutory authorities, QA procedures, and project management plans
  • Represent AECOM in meetings with clients and design teams; support tender and pre-qualification activities
  • Support safety, health and environment policies and ensure timely submissions and approvals

Key requirements

  • Previous public health engineering design experience in design consultancy or relevant business
  • Strong knowledge of statutory regulations and ability to obtain approvals
  • Ability to work independently with good time/task management
  • Experience in mixed-use, residential, commercial and healthcare buildings/sectors
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD for 2D drawings; proficient in Revit and Navisworks
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
