AECOM's UK&I Water Resources team provides services to a range of public and private sector clients. The team comprises over 100 Engineers and Consultants nationally, delivering projects of varying scales from planning support to local developers, hydraulic modelling projects to support the Environment Agency, to nationally significant multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects.

The Bristol Water Resources team forms one of AECOM's UK hubs for delivery of hydraulic modelling, delivering a broad range of flood risk and water resources projects across the UK. We are looking to appoint a Senior/Principal hydraulic modeller to support the continued growth of the team.

You will become a key part of a dynamic, friendly and supportive team located in central Bristol, and will be responsible for leading the technical delivery of flood risk modelling and water management projects across the UK. We envisage that you will use your experience to develop robust technical approaches for delivery of projects, and to take ownership of delivery to ensure projects are completed to a high standard. You will promote the adoption of modelling best practice, through undertaking quality assurance reviews and providing mentorship to support the development of junior members of the team.

Here's what you'll do:

  • Lead and undertake 1D-2D hydraulic modelling commissions to assess fluvial, surface water and tidal flooding.
  • Undertake other forms of technical work including Flood Risk Assessments; strategic flood risk assessments; design of sustainable urban drainage systems and environmental statements.
  • Undertake quality assurance of technical work within your area of expertise.
  • Take a proactive approach to managing client relationships, clarifying expectations, success criteria and outcome measures in order to meet their requirements and deliver successful projects.
  • Become part of our dynamic Water business, which boasts around 600 experts across the UK & Ireland. Collaborate with top-tier engineers and consultants to deliver a variety of captivating projects, from small initiatives to large-scale ventures, all the way from concept to completion.

Take advantage of career development opportunities, technical practice networks, AECOM University, volunteering days and our flexible hybrid working model to ensure a work-life balance that suits your lifestyle. We recognise that everyone's circumstances are different, so we're happy to discuss part-time or flexible working arrangements that suit you.

Be part of a dynamic team that tackles challenging and impactful water projects. Access to continuous learning and development opportunities. Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package. Enjoy the flexibility to work in a way that fits your lifestyle while supporting a healthy work–life balance.
