Joining our established and expanding Nuclear team as a Principal Process Engineer means engaging in a diverse and growing array of UK-based projects. This role offers the opportunity to participate in multi-disciplinary projects at various stages of their lifecycle, from client consultancy to delivering comprehensive engineering design solutions. Your responsibilities will include client interaction, preparing bids and proposals, and overseeing project delivery in line with AECOM's standards for quality, safety, and environmental care. Our established multi-disciplinary nuclear SQEP team, based across the UK, has been delivering fit-for-purpose solutions across the full spectrum of the nuclear sector for over 50 years. Here's what you'll do: Review of key process engineering deliverables as part of a wider multidiscipline team, these include: Process Descriptions, Basis of Design, Process Flow Diagrams, Process & Instrumentation Diagrams, Process & Instrument Data Sheets & Schedules, Underpinning Design Calculations, Material and Enthalpy Balances, Design Justification Reports. Key deliverables listed above, and their delegation as required, Ensuring that the process design satisfies the project requirements and overall scope, Ensuring that the process design complies with health and safety standards by utilising a Safety in Design approach, Project programme development, Managing project workload amongst the Process Team, Liaising with other engineering disciplines to ensure a fully integrated multidisciplinary design, Communication of design development in project meetings and reporting documentation. Additional Development of the Process Team via training, guidance and reviewing of work. Supporting Safety Case development via engineering substantiation. Pragmatic approach to problem solving and ability to apply 'Engineering Fit for Purpose Judgement' where appropriate. Support the Process Team growth through identifying work opportunities and assisting with recruitment activities. Manage Contractors and build a working relationship with Delivery Partners. At least 10 years of experience working as a Process Engineer or equivalent in aspects of design in the nuclear industry. Awareness and implementation of Health and Safety processes, regulations and standards, Successfully leading the delivery of process engineering work packages, Leading a team, Mentoring of other Process Engineers, Supporting bids, Developing a delivery schedule, Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards.
