We are expanding and have senior-level opportunities for hydrogeologists and groundwater experts, offering rapid career progression and the chance to support impactful projects across the UK, particularly within our south and east of England teams. Our team of 30+ hydrogeologists works on projects in the UK and overseas, ranging from groundwater source investigation to dewatering and groundwater flooding; impact assessment of major infrastructure schemes to water management, and development of strategies to better manage this resource. What you’ll do

• You will advise on all aspects of hydrogeology and work across the UK and Ireland initially, with potential for growth into international projects.
• Provide expert advice on hydrogeological conceptualisation.
• Assist with delivery of both water resources and engineering hydrogeology projects.
• Prepare bids internally and externally to support growth.
• Work with a team of consultants/graduate hydrogeologists in other offices.
• Develop new innovations around data and interacting with our groundwater modellers.

Being part of the team

• The AECOM Water Environment team\’s portfolio of clients comes from both public and private sectors, spread around UK, Ireland and the EMEA Region.
• The groundwater team collaborates with colleagues in surface water, aquatic ecology and hydromorphology to better conceptualise sites.
• We work on large-scale infrastructure projects, including all stages of consenting from Optioneering, through Environmental Statements, to Delivery Consents.
• We support groundwater resources development and refurbishment to ensure reliable supplies for Water Companies and the Food and Beverage sector.
• We assist mining teams with water management on active and legacy sites and support sustainable practices.
• We are involved in the energy transition through ground source heat schemes, geothermal projects, pump storage hydro schemes, windfarms and re-conductoring projects.

Qualifications

• BSc Hons degree in Geology, Geography and/or Environmental Science.
• Experience working in groundwater and the water environment industry.
• A relevant MSc in a practical environment-related subject.
• Evidence of early career stages with a relevant professional body, with an aim of becoming a member in the future.
