AECOM is currently looking to hire an Associate Director Building Surveyor to be based in our Bristol and SW Region. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to progress their career within our growing BS Surveying Team, part of the larger national building surveying team.

Our UK Building Surveying team deliver projects and surveys that cover building fabric and MEP services as one unit, specializing in multi-disciplinary design services on refurbishment schemes, condition and asset surveys (including and not limited to Lifecycle, Technical Due Diligence, dilapidations and asset management). Therefore, we are looking for a candidate with experience working with full spectrum building surveying and project management scope within education, commercial / light industrial environments; MEP services experience is desirable.

In time, the candidate should be willing to support work winning and Client management in both private and public sectors.

Here's what you'll do:

  • Survey and Report Writing: Conduct comprehensive surveys and produce clear, concise engineering reports for a full range of typical core professional Building Surveying services.
  • Construction Monitoring: Assist with construction monitoring and snagging assessments to ensure quality control and adherence to project specifications.
  • Capable of working independently under broad direction, while also supporting team members to meet client demands as needed.
  • This includes meeting and liaising with clients, understanding their requirements, and ensuring the service provided meets their needs.
  • Committed to continuous improvement of our standards, processes, and knowledge to deliver superior service to our core clients.

Possess strong written and oral communication skills, along with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.

Software Proficiency: Experience with tablet-based software, such as GoReport, Kyklcoud, and MOBIESS.

Time Management: Excellent time management skills, including ensuring all reports are completed in a timely manner to uphold the company's reputation.

Financial and Risk Management: Proficient in financial, commercial, and risk management from project inception through to completion on own projects.

Ability to work away from an office environment and potentially domestically and abroad.

Security Clearance: Eligibility for DBS or other security clearance checks is required.
