AECOM is currently seeking a talented Senior Bridge Inspector to support our Bridges & Structures team in Birmingham. This opportunity will involve a combination of remote work, office presence and field work, performing hands-on inspection of bridge structures throughout the United Kingdom. AECOM works with clients of various sizes and sectors across the UK&I. Typically this includes:
- Local Authority
- Network Rail
- National Highway Structural Inspection work
This important role offers participation in a variety of challenging projects and a dynamic work environment due to the number, type and size of bridges that make up the vast portfolio of the experienced bridge group this engineer will be joining.
We develop projects from concept through operation providing engineering and construction services for multiyear, multimillion-dollar projects for major rail and transit agencies. Our specialists provide analytical and strategic expertise for every stage of a project.

Qualifications: Ready to push the limits of what’s possible? Here’s what we’re looking for:
- BEng/MEng in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
- Experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Lantra BICS accreditation beneficial
- Confined Space Training beneficial
- Commitment to working a minimum of 2 days per week in our Birmingham Office
- Strong technical skills in bridge engineering and a keen commitment to quality with a ‘right first time’ approach to your own work
- Experience in the production of drawings, risk assessments and reporting
