AECOM Midlands Buildings & Places is made up of dedicated teams delivering projects in Justice, Infrastructure, Healthcare, Education, Government and Commercial sectors. We are looking to build on the success of the region and to develop our team in Birmingham.
About Our Role
Our Midlands Programme, Project and Cost Management Business Unit continues to grow. As a direct result of successfully securing positions with high profile clients and key local projects we are currently seeking a Project Manager to join us in our Birmingham office. As a Project Manager you will be part of an exciting and diverse team, supporting us to successfully manage and deliver capital projects across the Midlands and UK. The role would cover the whole project lifecycle from initial inception and business case development, through the design, procurement process, site delivery, commissioning phase and defects management. Experience in managing multiple projects and stakeholders in an environment where timescales and goals can change is essential.
Job Duties
- Deliver Project Management Commissions, taking responsibility for their successful delivery.
- Ensure commissions are managed to the right quality standards and are completed efficiently and on time.
- Develop strong relationships with clients and members of the cross‑functional team.
- Serve as the primary interface with AECOM clients (New and Existing).
- Provide effective support to Assistant/Graduate Project Managers.
- Manage the delivery of project outputs, in accordance with agreed time‑scales and quality standards.

Qualifications
- Excellent communication, presentation and organisational skills.
- Production of formal reports and documents which clearly set out complex issues.
- Experience of successfully delivering construction projects.
- Experience in a number of project management roles.
- Good understanding of CDM regulations.
- Good design management experience.
- Good contractor management experience.
- Experience of working with stakeholders/clients to produce Strategic Development Briefs and Client/User requirements.
- Experience of working as part of complex, multi‑disciplinary/multi‑agency Project Teams.
- NEC 4 Contract Administration (Accreditation a positive).
- Experience of Risk and Stakeholder Management techniques.
- Security clearance would be an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Qualified – ideally Project Management/Construction/Engineering/Quantity Surveying Degree.
- Chartered Status or working towards chartered status with the RICS, CIOB, RIBA, ICE or other equivalent institution.
- APM affiliation preferred (as secondary accreditation).
