Join our dynamic and multidisciplinary Water Team as a Senior Hydraulic Modeller in our Belfast office, with a flexible hybrid working model. You will be one of the lead technical team members supporting junior members to deliver high-quality projects and help shape the future of the water industry. This position offers an opportunity to support a diverse team committed to innovation and efficiency. The Belfast team collaborates with the Energy, Environmental and Transportation sectors and works on large-scale multidiscipline projects with the wider AECOM group.
Responsibilities and collaboration are performed within a team-focused, multidisciplinary environment with a commitment to delivering value to clients.
Responsibilities
- Lead on developing the technical approach for modelling, hydrology and flooding projects – supported by the wider team.
- Deliver technically challenging projects for key clients.
- Support the team fulfilling a thorough quality assurance process.
- Provide clients with technical input supporting them make informed decisions.
- Provide mentoring for junior team members, helping them develop and progress towards chartered status.
- Become part of our dynamic Water business, which boasts around 700 experts across the UK & Ireland. Collaborate with top-tier engineers and consultants to deliver a variety of projects from concept to completion.
Qualifications
- A degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Environmental Sciences, GIS, Geography, or similar subject.
- Chartered member or approaching chartership with ICE or CIWEM.
- Experience in Hydraulic Modelling, GIS or Data Analysis, in particular ArcGIS.
- Detailed understanding of hydrology in the UK and worldwide.
- Experienced in fluvial, pluvial and integrated Hydraulic Modelling, in particular Innovyze ICM or Floodmodeller/Tuflow.
- Experience being the technical lead on hydrology and hydraulic modelling projects.
- Proven experience in water consultancy.
