Job Description

Start here. Grow here. We are looking to hire an experienced Senior Consultant - Environmental Compliance & Permitting. This opportunity can be based from our Dublin, Cork and Belfast office while also benefiting from our flexible hybrid working model. You’ll join a specialist environmental compliance and permitting team, supporting clients across Ireland's pharmaceutical, manufacturing, technology, energy and process industries.

You’ll deliver a varied mix of licensing, auditing and regulatory compliance projects through global frameworks and site-specific commissions. Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Lead and deliver environmental compliance, permitting (including Industrial Emissions licensing) and regulatory advisory projects for industrial, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, technology, energy and infrastructure sector clients across Ireland.
  • Undertake environmental compliance audits, gap assessments, site inspections and legislative reviews.
  • Identify environmental compliance risks and develop practical corrective actions and improvement plans.
  • Prepare and review technical reports and regulatory submissions, including: Industrial Emissions Licence applications and amendments; Environmental Compliance Audit Reports; Environmental Liability Risk Assessments; Closure, Restoration and Aftercare Management Plans; Annual Environmental Reports; Solvent Management Plans; and Environmental compliance registers and assessments.
  • Manage projects and workstreams, including scope, programme, budget, quality and client communication.
  • Liaise with clients, the EPA and other regulatory authorities on environmental compliance and permitting matters.
  • Work with specialists across AECOM’s environmental, engineering, sustainability and planning teams to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members.
  • Support proposals, tenders, client development and identification of new opportunities.
  • Keep up to date with environmental legislation, regulatory developments and industry best practice in Ireland and Europe.

Qualifications

Ready to push the limits of what’s possible? Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Education: A degree (or equivalent qualification) in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
  • Experience & Technical Expertise: Demonstrable experience working in an industrial or consultancy environment. Proven track record in delivering environmental licensing and compliance services, including preparation of associated documentation. Extensive working knowledge of relevant Irish and European environmental legislation. Excellent report writing, technical reviewing, and communication skills.
  • Skills & Personal Attributes: Ability to work independently and collaboratively across a range of projects, including those with tight deadlines. A proactive and positive attitude, with strong team collaboration skills. Confidence in liaising with colleagues, industrial clients, and regulatory authorities.
