Overview
As a Senior Architect/Designer, you will lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary design work for large-scale data centre projects across Europe from a UK-based hub.
You will oversee design information production, ensure governance and quality, and manage demanding timelines.
You’ll collaborate with architectural, engineering, and digital teams to deliver integrated outputs.

Responsibilities
- Coordinate design across multi-disciplinary teams to deliver integrated architectural and engineering outputs
- Ensure adherence to internal governance at bid and delivery stages
- Present designs to clients and prospective clients
- Apply CDM Safety in Design principles throughout design
- Organise and manage work to meet deadlines, ensuring accuracy of multidisciplinary design documentation
- Maintain quality to AECOM’s Technical Excellence standards
- Engage with clients, contractors, and authorities to resolve issues; negotiate as needed
- Provide design support on-site interfaces between design and site teams; ensure timely delivery
- Support Associate Directors/Directors with Technical Excellence initiatives, resource management, and staff training (CPD)
- Promote use of latest software and digital techniques to improve productivity and identify training opportunities
- Utilise CAD (Auto CAD & REVIT) and 3D modelling (REVIT) for workflow
- Key requirements
- Fully Qualified Architect or Technologist (Chartered or equivalent) with experience on large multi-disciplinary design projects, preferably Data Centres
- Proficiency in CAD tools (Auto CAD & REVIT); strong REVIT knowledge required
- Working knowledge of Sketchup, Photoshop, In Design, Power Point, Twinmotion; training available
- Familiarity with Common Data Environments (CDE) like Forma ACC, Project Wise, Autodesk Docs
- English language proficient with strong communication and presentation skills
- Eligible to work in the UK; right to live/work in Northern Ireland
- IT literate with CAD software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to manage busy workloads and meet deadlines
- Degree qualification with Diploma or Masters preferred but not essential
- Experience in UK Building Systems, Standards and Regulations; understanding of construction types
- Willingness to work across data centres, nuclear, transport, rail, aviation, education, health care, laboratory, science, and logistics
