Shaping Ireland's Transport Future (Roads, Public Transport, and Greenways) Accelerate Your Career in Infrastructure AECOM's Surface Transportation Team in Ireland is thriving due to significant growth led by a robust pipeline of major Roads, Public Transport and Greenways programmes. We are seeking a driven Principal Civil Engineer (or similar Principal Infrastructure Engineer) to join our transportation team in Ireland. We welcome applications from those with strong industry experience and the ambition to progress from their current role and lead the delivery of our national infrastructure projects.

Your Role & Responsibilities

You will:

  • Be ready to take the next step in your career, delivering and coordinating design packages on complex infrastructure programmes.
  • Lead technical design teams on a diverse range of projects from concept to construction stage.
  • Deliver high quality deliverables and service to our clients, meeting our quality standards and their expectations within time and budget constraints.
  • Work seamlessly within a multidisciplinary team, co-ordinating and challenging inputs from other disciplines.
  • Work directly with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders, guiding them through technical challenges and relevant statutory approval processes.
  • Develop our team, through mentoring of junior engineers and apprentices, contributing to AECOM's culture of growth and continuous learning.

Qualifications

Ready to push the limits of what's possible? Here's what we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or similar.
  • Chartered Engineer, but we will consider strong candidates who demonstrate their progression toward Chartership soon.
  • Significant post-graduate experience in relevant areas such as civil engineering, highways, rail, light rail, public transport, or greenways/active travel.
  • Solid understanding of, and experience in, the use of relevant design standards in the UK and Ireland applicable to our projects.
  • Ability to manage and lead teams of varying sizes and capabilities.
