The Principal Mechanical Engineer will leverage engineering principles, collaborate on mechanical designs for weapon systems, and ensure robust product designs. Responsible for detailed design output, leading mechanical work packages, and managing engineering change processes.

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will collaborate with teams to create detailed mechanical designs for weapon systems, ensuring cost-effectiveness and compliance with standards. The Mechanical Design Engineer will lead design projects, review engineering drawings, and ensure quality standards while improving processes in a cross-functional team environment.

At AECOM, we are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Belfast office. Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Deliver the technical aspects of projects or defined work packages, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
  • Manage the technical delivery of projects, from interpreting client briefs to coordinating designs with other disciplines.
  • Lead and support engineers and technicians, ensuring deliverables align with project schedules and requirements.
  • Ensure all work and design solutions comply with health and safety standards and company quality assurance procedures.
  • Mentor and coach junior team members, supporting their professional development and career progression within the organisation.

Degree in Electrical Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent, working towards chartered status. Experience mostly of which will have been gained in design within a consultancy environment. In-depth knowledge of relevant standards and regulations. Experience in small to medium-sized projects. Revit proficient. Be familiar with BIM standards and BIM project delivery.
