We are seeking an Associate Project Manager with proven experience gained within a construction consultancy setting, specifically with a prior focus on projects within the Commercial and Residential sectors to join us at either our Edinburgh or Glasgow offices.
As an Associate Project Manager joining our team, here’s what you’ll do:
- Manage one or more moderately complex projects, involving a combination of the following:
- Administer the SBCC / NEC4 suite of contracts
- Clients with a regional geographic footprint; OR, Projects involving multiple services provided by regional IE offices; OR, May manage all phases of projects (from beginning to close out).
- Work mostly independently but receive basic instruction on specific assignments, objectives, complex features and possible solutions.
- Receive technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans for projects.
- Provide line management and mentoring to all staff members reporting to you and ensure that they have current and relevant training.
- Participate in business development opportunities with existing and new clients, including cross-selling opportunities, ensuring that these are identified and acted upon.
- Management of tender documents, appraisals and negotiations.
Minimum Requirements:
- You will ideally be from a consultancy or client organisation with the ability to successfully support and lead construction projects within the Commercial and Residential sectors.
- Pre and post contract design/project management expertise over the RIBA lifecycle.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- SBCC Contract Administration.
- Maintain accurate project records (both paper and electronic).
- Robust Stakeholder Management process.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Academic Qualification – ideally Project Management/ Construction/Engineering/Quantity Surveying Degree.
- Chartered Status with the RICS, CIOB, RIBA, ICE or other equivalent institution.
- APM affiliation preferred (as secondary accreditation).
