Job Description
AECOM seeks an Associate Director (Fire Engineer) based in London. This role requires experience across various sectors and technical fire engineering applications within a client-focused environment. You will oversee and develop a team of fire engineers, ensuring project delivery meets regulatory and client standards. This position is ideal for an established consultant aiming to advance or someone eager to join a multidisciplinary design consultancy with a respected fire safety team.
What you’ll do:
- Lead and manage the fire engineering team, overseeing workload, performance, and project delivery.
- Ensure successful project completion within the Middle East region, meeting all standards and client expectations.
- Collaborate across disciplines and with leadership to deliver high-quality projects on time and budget.
- Conduct staff appraisals, set SMART goals, and support professional development.
- Provide technical input on studies and design projects, mentoring less experienced staff.
Projects:
- Estimate budgets and schedules for fire engineering on large projects.
- Lead project delivery nationally and internationally.
- Maintain and develop client relationships, attracting new business.
Business:
- Implement health and safety policies.
- Foster good client relationships and promote AECOM’s fire engineering services.
- Support team KPIs, recruitment, and marketing strategies.
Qualifications:
- Experience with Middle East projects and standards (NFPA, IBC, UAE Fire Code, etc.).
- Proficiency with fire engineering tools like FDS, SFS, evacuation modelling.
- Membership in professional institutions such as MI Fire, NFPA certifications preferred.
- UK or other nationalities considered; security clearance and Chartered Engineer status advantageous.
