This role offers the chance to participate in multi-disciplinary projects at various stages of the lifecycle, from client consultancy to comprehensive turn‑key solutions. You will provide leadership and robust management of a team, serve as the first point of direct contact with clients, partners, and contractors, and oversee projects from concept to delivery including design, procurement, subcontract, factory acceptance, installation, site acceptance and commissioning.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of a strong team, providing leadership and robust management.
  • Serve as the first point of direct contact with clients, partners, and contractors.
  • Oversee key projects from concept to delivery, including design, procurement, subcontract, factory acceptance, installation, site acceptance and commissioning.
  • Participate in and guide engineering design tasks, ensuring high‑quality and technically sound solutions.
  • Drive business development within the engineering department.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations, conduct peer reviews of technical documents, and provide strategic advice using project and portfolio insights.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
Qualifications
  • Extensive experience in a position heavily focused on design‑related tasks within the nuclear sector, covering both new construction and decommissioning projects.
  • Exceptional leadership qualities with the ability to offer strategic advice and influence other engineers in defining, implementing and completing engineering work packages.
  • A track record of successful project delivery, including overseeing the full project cycle end‑to‑end.
  • Capability to lead and drive business development efforts.
  • Familiarity with European and American Standards and comprehensive experience post‑Charter in positions demanding thorough engineering knowledge of applicable practices, techniques, and procedures.
  • Competence in preparing and delivering technical presentations and conducting peer reviews of technical documents.
  • Self‑motivated, able to work autonomously and in a deadline‑driven team environment.
Desired Qualifications
  • Mechanical Engineering degree at Master’s or PhD level, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with MechE or a similar institution.
Other Requirements
  • Employability is conditional upon the ability to meet UK security clearance requirements.
