Design Manager – Water Solutions, based in our England & Wales offices. Lead multidisciplinary design teams through the full life cycle of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, from feasibility to construction and asset management.
Lead: Drive technical delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure / treatment projects; manage multi‑disciplinary technical teams to deliver value added solutions.
Manage: Oversee key packages from conception to handover, interfacing with AECOM teams, clients and suppliers to create a seamless technical solution.
Collaborate: Work closely with clients and AECOM partners to ensure stakeholder buy‑in, and contribute to AECOM’s wider technical capability.
Develop: Perform line manager duties, support development of junior team members, manage their input to projects and mentor them. Support part‑time opportunities for additional team responsibilities, including managing and developing our Water teams in England & Wales, and driving AECOM’s culture, values and quality.
Qualifications
- Experience managing technical delivery of water and wastewater engineering projects with multi‑disciplinary knowledge, including treatment schemes and/or pipeline design.
- Relevant experience in a similar role for a water company, consultancy or contractor.
- Hands‑on experience designing complex wastewater treatment solutions.
- Degree or equivalent in civil, electrical, mechanical engineering or related discipline.
- Chartered or Incorporated status (ICE, CIWEM) or working towards it.
- Experience in feasibility studies, options appraisal, concept design, outline and detailed design for water company clients and design‑and‑build contractors.
