Here’s what you’ll do:
- Provide technical direction to national project teams.
- Lead or verify hydraulic modelling for flood alleviation schemes, risk assessments and flood maps.
- Review and verify technical reports documenting model development and uncertainties.
- Contribute to proposals, from one-off projects to large-framework contracts.
- Mentor staff to support professional development.
- Build external relationships with clients and internal technical disciplines.
- Keep up to date with policy and technical developments, sharing insights and adapting services.
- Deliver thought leadership and represent AECOM at conferences.
- Drive innovation, including AI solutions, to ensure efficient, high-quality delivery.
- Actively participate in the global hydraulic modelling community.
Here’s what we’re looking for:
- More than 15 years of experience in hydraulic and modelling software (Flood Modeller, InfoWorks ICM, TUFLOW).
- Deep understanding of Environment Agency requirements for flood models.
- Established industry network, demonstrated through presentations or LinkedIn activity.
- Experience with FEH and REFH2 hydrological assessments.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, able to build stakeholder relationships.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- Chartered member of ICE or CIWEM.
- Strong GIS skills using QGIS, ArcGIS or MapInfo.
- Experience in flood forecasting modelling is advantageous.
- Knowledge of scripting (Python, Anaconda, Ruby) is advantageous.
