Join our dynamic and multidisciplinary Water Team as a Senior Wastewater Modeller in our rapidly growing Edinburgh office – whilst also taking advantage of our flexible hybrid working model.

At AECOM, we’re at the forefront of innovation, delivering an exceptional portfolio of water programmes and projects through long-term partnerships with key clients, including contractors, charities and water companies. In this role, you will be one of the lead technical team members supporting the junior members of the team to deliver top quality projects.

Responsibilities
  • Be the technical lead on the delivery of outputs for small to medium modelling projects
  • Effectively delegate tasks to the team as project workload and deadlines demand
  • Undertake a technical mentoring role for more junior members of staff
  • Health & Safety Risk Assessments
  • Coordinating field teams
  • Model build and verification
  • Optioneering of design solutions
  • Producing reports and technical documents
  • Progress reporting and client liaison
  • Project management, as well as business development client liaison
Qualifications
  • Experience using Infoworks ICM
  • Understand and work within financial and programme constraints of a project
  • Ability to develop technical specifications and scopes of works for projects
  • Experience of technically reviewing projects, providing design and optioneering input, and in preparation of proposals
  • Experience running a specific team of project engineers and technicians
  • Experience liaising with government departments, local authorities, water and utility companies, SEPA and other public bodies
  • A proven track record developing client relationships and securing repeat business work
  • Excellent oral and written communication
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or equivalent qualification) or proven track record/experience of delivering modelling projects
  • Be self‑motivated individual with ability to work independently and take ownership of workload
  • Able to make decisions, act on own initiative and operate in a proactive way
  • Experience of working in multi‑disciplinary teams
  • Excellent report writing skills, experience of making presentations and attending meetings with clients
  • Experience with coding languages such as Ruby or Python
