Job Description

Are you ready to lead a talented team and shape the future of Renewables? We are looking to add a Senior/Principal 3D Modeller to our Renewable energy team. You will provide full Civil 3D modelling support across the Renewables Business Unit, providing methodologies and procedures where necessary. You will work independently using an already established understanding of civil engineering and best practices, to provide meaningful input to the design process. Working in conjunction with a broad spectrum of experience levels, across multiple disciplines as part of the iterative design process. You will be producing, reviewing and ensuring they meet project deliverables and contain the necessary level of detail as required for: Pre-feasibility Detailed design / construction.

What can we offer?

Our Glasgow renewables team is currently managing modelling input on projects across the UK. Here is an example of one of our projects - Red John Pumped Storage Hydro Scheme.

Job Duties include:

  • Deliver: Carry out earthwork design and analysis primarily with tracks / roads / intersections / laydown construction areas, volumes analysis and drainage.
  • Process, annotate, and present design data as project deliverables.
  • Document Control.

Provide Expertise:

  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience in producing construction details / technical drawings.
  • Knowledge, or implementation of ISO19650 framework.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and iteratively within a design team of varied levels of experience.
  • Provide and receive candid and constructive feedback with team members.
  • Liaise with internal and external design teams.

Additional Key Activities:

  • Operate CAD software for internal and external meetings and Presentations.
  • Process CAD data for use with other software platforms.
  • Adhere to client and AECOM CAD standards during all CAD activities.

Outputs/Deliverables:

  • Design drafting deliverables using AutoCAD suite.
  • Presentation material for project bids and design reviews.

Qualifications

Ready to push the limits of what’s possible? Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • HNC / HND, BSc, BEng, MSc or MEng: in an engineering or a CAD-related subject (with civil engineering preferred, though not essential)
  • Experience within civil engineering industries, such as land development, transport (roads), construction, water (dams, spoil, and hydrology), waste (landfill), mining, and surveying.
  • Proficient user of AutoCAD Civil 3D within a live project environment.
  • Comfortable as the go-to modeller for Civil 3D expertise and guidance in the team.
  • Interested in building and leading a modelling team in time.
  • A passion for renewables and the energy transition.
  • Enjoys 'thinking outside the box' and building bespoke assemblies in Civil 3D when required on projects.
  • Understanding, or accreditation of using ISO19650.
