As a Senior Project Surveyor you will need to have experience gained within a consultancy or client organisation with the ability to either support or lead on medium to large size Healthcare, Life Sciences, Defence or Tertiary Education projects. You will be expected to work as part of an integrated team in our Norwich office, covering the whole project lifecycle from initial inception and business case development through the design process, procurement process, site delivery, commissioning phase and defects management.
Here’s what you’ll do:
- Provide effective support to Cost Managers, Graduates and Apprentices.
- Ensure commissions are managed and completed efficiently, on time and to the client’s satisfaction.
- Develop strong reciprocal relationships with members of the project team.
- Manage the delivery of cost management outputs, in accordance with agreed timescales and quality standards.
- Provide full cost management duties to AECOM clients.
- Demonstrate high degree of flexibility and creativity, excellent presentational skills and an ability to communicate effectively with clients and consultants.
- Deliver cost management services within a client-focused, highly motivated professional team.
Qualifications: Here’s what we’re looking for:
- Degree Qualified – BSc or MSc – in a construction related discipline such as Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, Construction Management, Commercial Management etc.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills are key.
- Ability to develop long-term relationships with all team members, balancing people and processes.
- Self-motivated, with a background in a consultancy or client organisation, able to work both independently and as part of a wider team.
- Proven experience in a consulting environment/client organisation providing the full spectrum of Cost Management services including Pre-Contract Estimating, Procurement, Contract Administration, Cost Reporting and Final Account resolution.
- Solid core measurement skills with experience of quantified procurement routes.
- Experience of managing internal resources, including training and mentoring of more junior staff members, is advantageous.
- Good understanding of contracts (JCT and NEC).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professionally Qualified – ideally Chartered Quantity Surveying Status with the RICS, CIOB or other equivalent institution.
- Full clean UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
- CSCS card holder.
