This graduate role offers hands-on experience in water-related projects, including dams, reservoirs, water supply systems, and flood risk management.

Responsibilities

  • Design: Create and modify project drawings using CAD software, perform calculations, and support design tasks.
  • Project Management Support: Assist with research, data gathering, and report preparation.
  • Field Visits: Participate in site surveys, inspections, and shadow experienced engineers on supervision.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Attend meetings with clients, contractors, and other professionals to discuss project requirements, progress, and challenges.

Qualifications

  • BEng in Civil or Civil and Environmental Engineering with a 2:1 classification (or equivalent).
  • MEng or related MSc in Civil/Environmental Engineering is an advantage.
  • Water-related modules are an advantage.
  • Relevant work experience is an advantage.
  • Enthusiastic, hard-working, technically proficient, ambitious and driven.
  • Basic computer skills (Word/Excel) and good report-writing skills.
  • Willing and able to pursue professional qualifications such as ICE or CIWEM.
  • Demonstrable interest in water projects.
  • Ability to consider the wider financial and commercial implications of actions.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to structure and prioritise work and work independently while maintaining initiative and focus.
