Job Description
The Advisory Consultant (Social Value) role will sit within the Economics & Economics Development (EED) Team as part of AECOM’s Buildings and Places business.
The EED Team works across a range of business sectors including energy, nuclear, transport, water, residential, commercial and regeneration and has worked on several major infrastructure projects such as High Speed Two, Heathrow Airport, Sizewell C and A303 Stonehenge.
Key Responsibilities
- Creating social value action plans, coordinating, and delivering social value initiatives.
- Ongoing monitoring and evaluation frameworks to enable clients to track and assess performance against social value targets.
- Producing client‑ready social value reports using established monitoring and evaluation frameworks which track and assess performance against social value targets.
- Managing day‑to‑day client relationships and, where relevant, third‑party contractors and other stakeholders.
- Providing guidance and insight to clients to enhance social value delivery on projects, and sharing best practices.
- Supporting new social value work‑winning opportunities, including undertaking business development activities and supporting the preparation of proposals.
Qualifications
- Key Experience and Skills
- Proven experience gained within a consultancy or client organisation with a focus on social value work.
- Knowledge and evidenced understanding of the implications of the Public Sector Services Act 2012, PPN 001 & PPN 002 and other legislation in relation to planning, major infrastructure and urban regeneration.
- Experience writing social value tender submissions and supporting work‑winning activities.
- Experience engaging with partners or stakeholders such as employment and educational organisations, social enterprises and charities to develop and maximise social value outcomes.
- Data analysis, management and presentation skills (strong Excel skills, and experience working with Social Value Portal TOMs System and THRIVE would be an advantage).
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, including experience in leading and chairing meetings.
