Grow here. “Are you ready to join a team of Hydraulic Specialists and shape the future of the Water Industry?” We’re looking for a Hydraulic Specialist to join our growing Water team. You’ll play a senior technical role, leading small teams to deliver critical hydraulic analysis of clean water and wastewater treatment facilities in the UK. Although your primary focus will be on hydraulic modelling of treatment facilities, you’ll also have opportunities to work on a wider range of treatment plant and civils design projects.
Here’s what you’ll do:
- Set up HADES models for treatment plant infrastructure
- Calibrate the model with physical data
- Develop hydraulic solutions
- Present findings to clients
- Work with multi-disciplinary teams within AECOM and externally to develop solutions
- Prepare high-quality technical reports, clearly documenting model assumptions, build processes, results, and uncertainties
- Support project delivery tasks, including preparation of hydraulic profiles and working with other disciplines to help develop detailed design drawings
- Engage with clients
- Use company project management systems to help deliver work on time and within budget

Qualifications: Ready to push the limits of what’s possible? Here’s what we’re looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in an appropriate subject (e.g. Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering)
- Technical Reporting: Writing clearly and concisely, summarising technical concepts for clients
- Experience in open channel hydraulic design, including sub critical and super critical flow and hydraulic jumps
- Experience with design of hydraulic structures, including weirs and flumes
- Gravity pipe and pressure pipe design experience
- Experience in developing hydraulic models and/or producing calculations for a range of sizes and complexities of treatment plants independently
- Experience and understanding of hydraulic modelling scenarios
- Chartership or working towards Chartership (CIWEM, ICE)
Desirable but not essential: You will also be self-motivated with an ability to work both autonomously where required, with a strong sense of commitment, a willingness to learn and a desire to work in a dynamic deadline driven team environment.
