One of our most recent wins includes Scottish Water’s SR27 Enterprise. AECOM has been named preferred bidder for one of two Primary Designers on this transformational, multi-billion-pound programme. It is the highest value venture ever put into place by Scottish Water and will reshape Scotland’s water and wastewater infrastructure from 2027 to 2033 (with potential to extend for another 6 years).

AECOM will be at the heart of this ground-breaking delivery model, shaping design excellence at scale and working with Scottish Water and our Enterprise Partners to help drive outcomes that deliver value for customers in Scotland and go beyond net zero. This is a major win for AECOM and a powerful endorsement of our expertise, giving us a fantastic opportunity to deliver long-term, meaningful work that has large scale impact for communities across Scotland.

This position offers an unparalleled opportunity to support on this programme and work alongside a talented, diverse team committed to innovation and efficiency. Join our dynamic and multidisciplinary Water Team as a Mechanical Engineer in one of our Scotland offices – whilst also taking advantage of work from home days through our hybrid work approach.

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Prepare feasibility studies, outline design, detailed design and construction support
  • Produce Plant layouts, design drawings and mechanical plant selection including specifications, WIMES Data Sheets, Valve schedules, Equipment Schedules, lifting strategies, hydraulic headloss calculations and P&IDs.
  • For Water Projects Liaise and collaborate with our water and other discipline teams including civil, electrical, process and mechanical engineers nationwide.
