AECOM is offering an exciting opportunity to join our award-winning Soil, Groundwater and Remediation Team. You’ll work in a collaborative, high-performing environment that prioritises wellbeing, flexibility, and professional growth. Our team supports a broad range of sectors — including industrial, energy, pharmaceutical, land development, ports, road, and rail — delivering services such as:
- Desk studies
- Remediation strategy, design, implementation, and validation
- Environmental monitoring and close-out
This role can be based from our offices in Birmingham, Cardiff and Manchester with an option for hybrid working.
Here’s what you will do:
- Deliver Phase 1 environmental assessments, ground investigations, and routine monitoring tasks;
- Work independently to ensure technical quality, budget control, and programme adherence;
- Support the preparation of fee proposals for internal and external clients;
- Manage projects from desk study and feasibility, through to delivery of site investigations and data interpretation, to remediation design and delivery.
Qualifications
Ready to push the limits of what’s possible? Here’s what we’re looking for:
EducationIdeally, a minimum of an undergraduate degree in an environmental, science, or engineering-based subject.
Technical Knowledge and Skills- A good understanding of contaminated land assessment regulations and guidance.
- Working knowledge of CDM regulations and site management.
- Development of conceptual site models.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to write clear and concise technical reports and documents.
Hands-on experience with field investigation, including:
- Site management
- Drilling supervision
- Collection of groundwater and ground gas samples
- Supervision of remediation activities
- Full driving licence
- Willing to travel within the UK and work away from home for periods of time
- CSCS card holder
