Job Description
As a Senior Cost Intelligence Consultant you will be expected to take an active role throughout all stages of a project. Working on large-scale infrastructure and capital programmes you will have an opportunity to work with a wide variety of clients, including on high-profile projects, working alongside other construction professionals in multi-disciplinary teams. You will need to be able to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
Here’s what you'll do:
- Support and deliver commissions in area of efficiency & value identification, assurance & continuous improvement, construction economics research & analysis, plus general cost intelligence services.
- Have experience in one or more of the following technical disciplines: Cost Model and / or Cost Estimate development, Statistical Analysis to support benchmarking and efficiency exercises, Business Cases development and Cost Benefit Analysis, Defining business models.
- Identify cost reduction opportunities through benchmarking and efficiency exercises.
- Possess analysis capabilities which can be applied to client and industry datasets to create data-driven solutions.
- Work with the leadership team to mature and develop service offerings with practical and viable solutions for our clients.
- Provide assistance to senior management in the preparation of technical and financial proposals.
- Ensure effective delivery through project and financial management for complex assignments.
- Maintain high quality professional outputs.
Here’s what we’re looking for:
- Confident in ability to write technical reports and prepare presentations.
- Astute with problem solving and developing novel solutions to meet client needs.
- Demonstrable experience and/or relevant qualification in one or more of the following: cost modelling, cost estimation, business case development, cost-benefit analysis or statistical analysis.
- Knowledge and interest in the infrastructure sector and its ongoing developments.
- Strong capability in the Microsoft Suite of products.
- Coding language knowledge would be a bonus (Python, R etc).
- Effective decision making with strong verbal and written communication.
- Working knowledge of database development.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability and confidence to work with a range of clients and consultants.
- Background working in a consultancy environment or contracting experience in a relevant discipline.
- Proven experience working on large scale infrastructure projects in Transport, Water, Energy and other relevant sectors. Defence experience would be advantageous.
- Buy-in to achieving deadlines set by clients and managers.
- Take pride in quality and appearance of clear record of error checking and demonstration of validity in results.
- Able to produce auditable outputs with client deliverables.
