We are looking for an ambitious team player to assist in developing and communicating innovative approaches to the analysis of public expenditure and support transport planning projects. The role is designed for graduates eager to begin their career in transport planning and to develop a genuine interest in this industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting in data collection and analysis
- Reviewing and building economic models
- Reviewing and drafting infrastructure proposal documents and associated business cases
- Assisting in the preparation of reports, presentations, bids and proposals
- Attending meetings and workshops with clients and members of other disciplines
Qualifications
- A Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Geography, Economics, Maths, or an MSc in Transport Planning with a 2:1 classification (or equivalent) or above
- A Masters degree in Civil Engineering, Geography, Economics, Maths, or Transport Planning would be an advantage
- Transport Planning modules or experience would be an advantage
- Demonstrable experience in the use of Python or R for data processing would be an advantage
- Strong technical understanding of Transport Planning
- Demonstrable interest in Transport Planning and desire to develop a career in this industry
- Willing and able to work towards chartership with the TPS, CIHT, or ICE
- Good Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and confidence to engage with clients, colleagues, stakeholders and sub-contractors
- Enthusiastic, hard‑working, ambitious and driven
- Strong ability to structure & prioritise work effectively through close cooperation with the team
- Capability to work in a team and independently without losing initiative & focus
