Business Tutor – HMP Isis

Location: HMP Isis, London Salary: £35,000–£39,000 per annum Hours: Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week Monday–Thursday: 8:00am–5:00pm Friday: 8:00am–12:30pm Contract: Permanent

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Business Tutor to join the education team at HMP Isis.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to deliver Level 2 and Level 3 Business qualifications to small groups of prison-based learners, helping them develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours they need to achieve their qualifications and prepare for their future.

You will work closely with learners to support their individual development, helping them build confidence, develop employability and business skills, and work towards their longer-term goals and aspirations.

You will be responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality teaching and ensuring learners receive the appropriate support, training plans, advice and guidance throughout their learning journey.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver Level 2 and Level 3 Business qualifications.
• Plan and deliver engaging and inclusive classroom-based learning.
• Support learners to develop their business knowledge, skills and behaviours.
• Develop and maintain appropriate individual learning and training plans.
• Assess learner work and provide constructive feedback.
• Monitor learner progress and support achievement of qualifications.
• Use a range of teaching and learning methods to engage learners with different abilities and learning needs.
• Provide advice, guidance and support to learners where appropriate.
• Maintain accurate learner records and complete relevant administrative requirements.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a high standard of education and learner support.
• Promote positive attitudes towards learning, progression and future employment.

About You

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Business Tutor who can engage learners and bring business subjects to life.

You will ideally have

• A recognised Business qualification or equivalent.
• A Level 4 or above teaching qualification, such as Cert Ed, PGCE, DET, DTLLS or equivalent.
• Substantial vocational experience within a business/enterprise environment.
• Experience delivering vocational-based training.
• Experience teaching and/or assessing Business qualifications.
• Ideally, experience delivering SFEDI or similar Business/Enterprise qualifications.
• Strong knowledge of business, enterprise, entrepreneurship and/or self-employment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to adapt your teaching style to meet the needs of individual learners.
• A genuine passion for education and supporting people to achieve their potential.
• Prison Education Experience

Previous prison education experience is not essential.

We are interested in hearing from experienced Business Tutors, Teachers, Lecturers and vocational trainers who have the right qualifications, experience and attitude to make a positive difference to learners.

Full training and support will be provided to successful candidates in relation to working within the prison environment.
