The Role

Capable in managing people, projects and directing a team. Sustains and improves client relationships. Competent to review certain work of other professional staff. Responsible for managing the GQE Team within a region and ensuring an appropriate level of technical cover on all projects as required, including control of validation cost and time budgets. Responsible for obtaining all necessary regulatory approvals. Responsible for providing technical interpretation of information regarding a wide range of geotechnical and/or geoenvironmental aspects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepares specific studies, reports, designs and specifications as required.
  • Independently performs assignments, with supervision and guidance relating largely to overall objectives, critical issues and new concepts.
  • Management of the regional GQE team and promote/develop the team within the Group.
  • Help and support the Resident Engineers, ensuring they fully understand their role, requirements and project expectations.
  • Management of client portfolio, including ground improvement works.
  • Overseeing geotechnical and geoenvironmental technical aspects of contracts.
  • Liaison with and provision of technical advice/assistance when required.
  • Communication with SRL Contracts Manager/Site Manager throughout programmed works.
  • Provide regular updates to Technical Director/Directors on works in progress.
  • Client liaison, ranging from the presentation of outline proposals through to providing regular client updates throughout remediation works.
  • Liaison and negotiation with regulators.
  • Assist in preparation of quotes/tenders for potential remediation projects.
  • Project management of remediation support activities including the design, reporting and validation of remediation works.
  • Reviewing of factual and interpretive reports with a view to designing suitable and cost-effective remediation schemes.
  • Oversee specific validation cost and time budgets.
